…… A good friend and primo picker recently purchased this 4 ¾” by 6” by 1 ¾” thick, leather bound, CDV Photograph Album. As he flipped through the pages he found a rare, double Miniature Photograph of President Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. These paper photographs measure only 9/16” by 3/4” and are mounted to a 2 ½” by 4” embossed CDV with patriotic flags, shield and eagle. Published and patented by Augustus Ephraim Alden, 1837-1914 of Providence RI, the photograph of Mary was taken about 1863 and the photograph of Abe was taken by Anthony Berger in February in 1864. There is some rubbing to the raised paper, but everything else is original. After finding the Lincoln photo my friend also found a photograph of John Wilkes Booth. If you search the net you will find that this image has some rarity. You will find to other CDVs photographs that were taken at the same sitting. He is holding a small ivory topped cane and has a white hankie in his coat pocket. This 2 3/8” by 4” CDV was photographed by J. Cady of Brandon VT. If you look closely you can see that this photo is of a photo, because it is a little askew at the top. This antique, authentic CDV Photograph of Booth is in original condition. … We were going to remove the Lincoln and Booth photographs from the album, but then we started looking closely at the other photos and now we are thinking that several of them may be of the Co-conspirators of Lincoln’s Assassination. We have taken close-up photographs of these CDVs so you can make a determination for yourself. One photograph looks like Mary Surratt and another looks like Michael O’Laughien. All the photographs are from the Civil War period and I was afraid to eliminate an important photograph, so we have decided to sell the CDV Album just as it was found, with every photograph in place, including the rare Lincoln and Booth CDVs. … We are listing this important CDV Photograph Album without any reserve. UPS is also using a new billing structure which calculates the cost of shipping using Dimensional weight instead of the actual weight of the package. More information about this change can be found on UPS’s website and if you see an increase in the shipping calculator, this is why.
If you find that there is a discrepancy between eBay's estimate and your invoiced shipping cost, we apologize.
We are currently working closely with eBay to have the calculator provide accurate costs. In the meantime, we are manually and accurately adjusting each invoice after the close of the auction. We assure you that we do not make money on shipping! We also assure you that we properly and professionally pack every item as well as fully insure each package. At the end of each day, any buyer who has paid or more over actual shipping costs, will receive a refund!
Payments:
Payment must be received within 5 days of receiving an invoice.
If payment, or contact from the buyer, isn't received within 5 days, an eBay dispute will be opened. This dispute will be closed within 4 days after being opened and the item will be re-listed.  If you have a problem, please call us and we will help you solve it.
If you do not want your item shipped immediately (within 24hrs) please get in contact with us before paying!
