Original WWII Japanese Stamped Steel Helmet, liner & chin strap - circa 1939

Up for bids is an
ORIGINAL period
manufacture (circa 1939)
WWII Japanese Stamped Steel Helmet, liner & chinstrap.  Most of this helmet's finish is intact with scattered areas of surface corrosion (
patina
) ringing its top - most likely from long time storage with
another
helmet sitting on top.  The
period
liner & chinstrap are complete & in good condition for their age.  Interestingly, on the front of this helmet is mounted a small brass star backed by a wool felt washer.   Overall, a very solid example of an early WWII Japanese
civil defense/factory
helmet.  This item is part of my husband's WWII Collection and comes from a clean, smoke free home.
